What is counselling?

1) A safe and confidential space

A good counselling space must be an oasis, a safe space where you can share your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement and repercussions. In this space, that is completely unique to you, you can explore the landscape of your Self.

2) Non judgemental

As a counsellor, I genuinely care about you and accept you for who you are without judgement or conditions, regardless of your background, beliefs, or lifestyle. In the space I create, you are accepted, validated and supported in your work towards self understanding, personal growth and change.

3) Non directive

I am not here to tell you what to do or give you specific advice. I believe in your power to found your own answers. I’ll be there to guide you and facilitate the exploration of your thoughts, feelings and needs. We’ll also work collaboratively to find your own answers and solutions

4)Tailored to your needs

As a pluralistic counsellor, my practice is tailored to your needs and your unique way of working through them. That’s why a dialogue is important and why, with time, you’ll build a greater understanding of what those needs are.

5) A place for growth and change

A space where your confidentiality is protected and you are accepted, is fertile ground for change. It is also a space you carve out each week to spend on yourself. I am always amazed and humbled by the work done in the counselling space, where people truly take time to meet themselves.
